The one dream I can remember from last night

It was the oddest thing.  What I thought it was at first was me playing a video game; the organization of the world could be a video game if one were inclined to develop it.

My description of the dream was much longer in my head during that haze between waking and sleeping, but what I can remember is that I was following/controlling a simple humanoid figure, a color-tinted version of the figure on road signs.  The character was tinted to adhere to the color of the world surrounding it.  It was essentially a space station environment, simplified not in shape, but in texture.  It was like this picture, but not cubic, with a slight glow.

The dream follows the character through various rooms throughout the station, detailing how things get more and more isolated for the character through some horrible incident.  Soon enough, there is only one person left for the controllable figure to observe.  He seems to be running out of air or dying in some strange, slow way.  The last moments are of the person detailing his life, feelings, and experiences that led him to this point, all while we (I) observe him.  After he finishes, and with a lot of effort, he presses a few buttons on the space suit he is wearing and creates the same character you happen to be controlling.

The whole dream/game was essentially a log of the events that happened at the station.
